Pay:
$24–$26/hour (6-Month Contract-to-Hire)
Expected Salary Once Converted:
$50K–$60K base + monthly commission (realistic 6-figure potential in Year 1)

Job Description:

We’re looking for an ambitious, self-motivated Sales Representative to join a growing manufacturing and distribution team based in Elgin, IL. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals who are looking to break into sales and grow with a fast-paced, high-opportunity environment.

This is a contract-to-hire role with clear promotion and commission potential, giving the right person the chance to step into a six-figure sales opportunity within their first year. Travel across the U.S. is required approximately every other week to attend trade shows and visit clients.

What You’ll Do:

  • Make outbound cold calls and follow up with leads

  • Maintain and grow a book of ~100 existing accounts (mostly distributors)

  • Generate new business and help launch an exciting new product line

  • Attend trade shows across the U.S., visiting multiple customers at each event

  • Manage relationships with brokerage groups and client contacts

  • Provide product information, coordinate orders, and resolve service issues

  • Collaborate with internal team members to ensure smooth client operations

What We’re Looking For:

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field or 2+ years of sales-related work/internship experience (preferably in a manufacturing setting)

  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and desire to win

  • Willingness to cold call and handle rejection with professionalism

  • Ability to travel domestically up to 40–50% of the time (via plane)

  • Polished communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Previous experience in customer-facing roles (retail, B2B, hospitality, or service industry)

  • Former athletes or individuals with competitive backgrounds

  • Experience working in or selling within the manufacturing or distribution space

Additional Info:

  • Travel required every 2–3 weeks for 2–3 days at a time

  • Commission paid monthly (1–2% of gross sales)

  • No work-from-home option (100% onsite when not traveling)

  • Background check and drug screening required
